The Savage Land's is a persistent role playing world set in the Forgotten Realms. As well as keeping the server up as much as we can, the goal is also to change the server overtime. Not only does this mean that we want to grow the server with new areas, but it means that you the player can have an impact on the world.
Example: PC will be able to affect dungeons, town growth, Temple growth, and the balance of power among the factions of the area.
Races, Classes and Leveling Information
Races:
All of the races from NWN are included in the Savage Lands PW, but we do not, at this time, allow for any other races, or sub races.
Classes:
All of the basic classes are included in the Savage Lands, but prestige classes need to be unlocked before use. We also will be holding back on the following prestige classes:
Leveling:
Max level for the server, at this time, is set to level 20. Mostly as it is really hard to balance content for 20+ players. All other NWN leveling features are the same as the base game.
The Savage Lands has a large deity system in place. The complete list of gods can be found here [List]. If you are a Cleric or a Nature magic follower, you will need to choose a deity on entering the server. Every player will get a chance to add a deity to his/her Character when they first login.
For non-nature/cleric types choosing a god can still have good in game benefits, but you may choose to be godless as well.
The first time you login, you will be go though a few small steps before you start playing.
- You will read about Role playing and what it means to us
- You will pick a Deity
- You will buy some starting gear
- You enter the world
GM Role(Game Master-- similar to a PnP DM)
The Role of the GM is to:
- Add more realism to the PW
- To encourage Role playing
- To discourage cheating and exploits
- To add order when needed
- To add new quests
The Role of the GM is not to:
- Level PC
- Kill PC
- Give out free items or information
- Save your ass
Spells:
Most of the spells on our server have been changed in some way. To make them compatible with a PW environment. This does mean that some spells are nerfed, but some are also better. This is just something that has to be done.
Pets/Summoned Creatures:
Just like spells, summoned creatures have been changed to fit better in a PW environment.
Resting:
Resting takes place only every 12 min real time. We do not have a HCR system in place (and if you do not know what that means, you don't need to) but we do require a bedroll for resting.
Death
When you die, and you will, all players start back in town again. Unless you are resurrected by a cleric, scroll or deity intervention <--hint
